Gloria Reuben, perhaps best known for her role as Jeanie Boulet on the medical drama ER and Marina Peralta on TNT’s sci-fi series Falling Skies, is collaborating with Cathy Konrad’s Tree Line Film and Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park Television to adapt Dean Koontz’s bestselling book Dark Rivers of the Heart for television.

The psychological thriller centers on an ex-Marine, haunted by a tortured past, who is on the run with a mysterious, troubled woman who witnessed the murder of her husband and parents. The lethal servant of a black ops government agency, corrupt in mind and deed, is their relentless pursuer.

“I’m delighted to be working with Gloria Reuben, and I’m no less delighted by the team that has coalesced around her. Television has become the ideal medium for long multiple-thread novels like Dark Rivers of the Heart, and I look forward to binge-watching this!” said Koontz in a released statement.

Currently, Reuben plays Krista Gordon, Elliot’s therapist on Emmy-winning USA series Mr. Robot. She will next be seen in TV One’s Jean of the Joneses.
