HBO has released a new teaser trailer for the highly anticipated drama series The Idol starring and co-created by Able ‘The Weeknd’ Tesfaye. The new tailer is steaming up phone screens across the country and we are absolutely here for it. Fans have taken to the comments and are insistent the series is loosely based on iconic popstar Britney Spears. Not a far stretch with “Gimme Me More” by Spears driving the fast paced energy of the teaser trailer.
Synopsis – The Idol
After a nervous breakdown derailed Jocelyn’s (Lily-Rose Depp) last tour, she’s determined to claim her rightful status as the greatest and sexiest pop star in America. Her passions are reignited by Tedros (Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye), a nightclub impresario with a sordid past. Will her romantic awakening take her to glorious new heights or the deepest and darkest depths of her soul?
