Deadline is reporting that newcomer Jeanté Godlock, Julius Tennon, Tisha Campbell-Martin, and Kelsey Scott have been cast in Lifetime’s “The Simone Biles Story” (working title), which follows the Olympic gold medalist’s journey from foster care to winning 19 Olympic and World Championship medals and cementing her status as one of the greatest gymnasts of all-time.

Production is currently underway in Vancouver for a 2018 premiere on Lifetime.

Based on her book Courage To Soar: A Body in Motion, A Life in Balance, Biles’ journey from foster care to the Olympic podium is full of life experiences that serve as an inspiration for every little girl with a dream. Godlock has done acrobatic gymnastics and 10 years of dance. She has tumbling experience detailed in her resume and is listed as three inches taller than the 4-foot-8 Biles. Tennon appeared in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and recently guest-starred on How To Get Away With MurderCampbell-Martin, best known for her roles on Martin and My Wife and Kids, was recently seen on Dr. Ken.

Biles follows Gabby Douglas, whose biopic, The Gabby Douglas Story,” premiered on Lifetime in early 2014 after her 2012 Olympic all-around title.

Biles will return to full-time gymnastics training Nov. 1 and hopes to compete next summer for the first time since the Olympics.
