According to The Wrap, comedian Jerrod Carmichael, star of the NBC sitcom, ‘The Carmichael Show,’ is in talks to join the cast of ‘Transformers 5.’

Michael Bay is back on board as the director, with newcomer Isabela Moner attached and Mark Wahlberg back from the previous film, ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction.’

‘Age of Extinction’ grossed over a billion dollars back in 2014.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto will produce the sequel with Hasbro, and Paramount will release the film on June 23, 2017.

Prior to his TV series, Carmichael was last seen in the comedy ‘Neighbors,’ opposite Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, and Rose Byrne.

The site states that production on ‘Transformers 5′ is slated to start this summer in Detroit.
