Grammy winner and actress Jill Scott, Regina Hall, and Eve will star in the Lifetime original movie “With This Ring,” states The Hollywood Reporter.
The romantic comedy centers on three single best friends (Scott, Hall, and Eve) who attend the lavish wedding of a fourth on New Year’s Eve and desperation pushes them to make the vow to be married within the year. Each woman starts the year with hopes of what will happen over the next 12 months, but will they all make it to the altar?
To be written and directed by Nzingha Stewart, producing the film are Sony Pictures Television and executive producers Tracey Edmonds, Sheila Ducksworth (Soul Food) and Gabrielle Union (Being Mary Jane).
Scott will be seen in the James Brown biopic “Get On Up” with Chadwick Boseman. She was last seen in the romantic comedy “Baggage Claim” along with Paula Patton. Regina Hall starred in 2014’s “About Last Night” and more recently, the ensemble film “Think Like A Man Too.” Eve’s last big film was in 2009 in “Whip It” opposite Ellen Page. She is slated to reprise her role as Terri in “Barbershop 3” should the film get the greenlight to go into production.
Filming on “With This Ring” will start in August with a release slated for sometime later this year.
