Jordan Peele To Write And Direct Horror Thiller ‘Get Out’ For BlumhousePosted by Wilson Morales

Having ending his variety show Key & Peele this past summer on The Comedy Central with pal Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele will now focus on making his mark in the film world.
It’s being reported that Peele wrote and will direct the horror-thriller Get Out with QC Entertainment teaming up with Blumhouse Productions to produce the film.
“People know me for my work in comedy, but now I’ll get to focus on my passion for writing and directing horror films,” said Peele. “Like comedy, horror has an ability to provoke thought and further the conversation on real social issues in a very powerful way. ‘Get Out’ takes on the task of exploring race in America, something that hasn’t really been done within the genre since ‘Night of the Living Dead’ 47 years ago. It’s long overdue.”
Get Out is a horror-thriller centering on a young African-American man who visits his Caucasian girlfriend’s family estate.
Jason Blum and QC Entertainment principals Sean McKittrick and Edward H. Hamm Jr. are producing. Blumhouse’s Couper Samuelson is executive producing alongside QC’s Ray Mansfield and Shaun Redick.
Peele is currently shooting the stoner comedy Keanu, which he co-wrote and stars in alongside Keegan-Michael Key.
