Justin Lin, best known for directing four of the seven “Fast and Furious” films, is in talks to direct “Space Jam 2,” starring NBA player LeBron James, for Warner Bros.

The original 1996 film, a live action/animation comedy that earned $230.4 million worldwide, starred former NBL player and Hall of Famer Michael Jordan and a collection of Looney Tunes cartoon characters who teamed up to play a basketball game against aliens threatening their freedom.

Lin, Andrew Dodge and Alfredo Botello are writing the script for the film, which Charlie Ebersol is producing.

James made his acting debut opposite Amy Schumer in the Judd Apatow comedy “Trainwreck,” where he played himself.

Lin’s next film is “Star Trek Beyond,” which comes out this summer.
