During last night’s coverage of the Rio Olympics, Sony Pictures released a new preview to Ron Howard’s upcoming suspense thriller, Inferno, starring Tom Hanks, Felicity Jones, Irrfan Khan, Omar Sy, Ben Foster and Sidse Babett Knudsen.
Based on the best-selling book by Dan Brown and set in the heart of Italy, Harvard professor of symbology Robert Langdon is drawn into a harrowing world centered on one of history’s most enduring and mysterious literary masterpieces: Dante’s Inferno. When Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks, a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories and prevent a madman from releasing a global plague connected to Dante’s “Inferno.”
Hanks is reprising his role as Langdon, Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything) as Dr. Sienna Brooks, Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi) as Harry Sims (also known as The Provost), Omar Sy (The Intouchables) as Christoph Bruder, and Sidse Babett Knudsen (“Borgen”) as Dr. Elizabeth Sinskey, the head of the World Health Organization. Ben Foster (Lone Survivor) as the film’s chief villain.
The previous films were The Da Vinci Code” followed by “Angels & Demons.”
Inferno hits theaters on October 28, 2016.
