According to Variety, Noomi Rapace is in talks to join Will Smith and Joel Edgerton in Netflix’s cop thriller “Bright. The film will be directed by David Ayer from a script by Max Landis.

According to consequenceofsound.net, Bright has been described as a cross between Ayer’s 2012 cop movie End of Watch and 1988 sci-fi thriller Alien Nation. Smith plays a human cop who teams up with an Orc (Edgerton) to find a magical wand before it lands in criminal hands.

Production is expected to start sometime this fall with Bryan Unkeless and Eric Newman producing.

Last seen in “Child 44,” Rapace has Tommy Wirkola’s What Happened to Monday slated to be released this year along with “Rupture” and “Unlocked.” 

Smith recently completed filming “Collateral Beauty” for Warners’ New Line label and will next be seen in WB’s “Suicide Squad,” which Ayer just directed.

Joel Edgerton was recently seen in WB’s sci-fi film “Midnight Special,” He will next appear in the interracial marriage drama “Loving” with Ruth Negga.
