Blackfilm.com has been provided with a look at the official one-sheet to Spike Lee’s Oldboy, a remake of South Korean’s Chan-wook Park mystery thriller.
Written by Mark Protosevich, the cast includes Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, James Ransone, Lance Reddick, Max Casella, Rami Malek, Michael Imperioli and Samuel L. Jackson.
“Oldboy” is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.
The OLDBOY logo itself is Brolin’s handwriting, inspired by the letters his character writes to his daughter through the film while locked up.
Stay tuned for the trailer this Wednesday, July 10th.
FilmDistrict will release Oldboy in theaters on October 25, 2013.
