Fox TV has released several photos and clips from the second episode titled “Hour Two: Betrayal of Trust” of its new series, ‘Shots Fired,’ which airs on Wednesday, March 29 at 8:00pm ET/PT.

Inspired by recent events that have sparked national outrage and the Black Lives Matters movement, the Gina Prince-Bythewood and Reggie Rock Bythewoood penned and Brian Grazer produced “event series” stars Sanaa Lathan, Stephan James, Helen Hunt, Richard Dreyfus, Jill Hennessy, Stephen Moyer, DeWanda Wise, Tristan (aka Mack) Wilds and Aisha Hinds.

In the second episode, when a controversial video of Deputy Beck is leaked, Ashe and Preston must find the source and expose whether or not it was a setup; it is revealed that Pastor Janae had a public run-in with Joey Campbell (Kelvin Harrison Jr.) before his death.

Shots Fired stars Sanaa Lathan as Ashe Bell, an expert investigator who examines the dangerous aftermath of the racially-charged shootings in a small town in North Carolina, alongside Preston Terry (Race’s Stephan James), a special prosecutor sent to the town by the Department of Justice. The pair must navigate the media attention, public debate and the social unrest that comes with such volatile cases, as they seek justice before the divided town erupts.

Hunt plays Patricia Eamons, the fictional governor of North Carolina. Dreyfuss is Arlen Cox, a real estate mogul and owner of a privatized prison who is intricately involved in the shootings. Moyer has the role of Officer Breeland, a seasoned veteran in the town’s Sheriff’s Department, who gets caught in the middle of the investigation.

Wilds plays Officer Belk, a young African American sheriff’s deputy in a small town in North Carolina, who after a police shooting is thrust into the national spotlight that pushes his life and young family into chaos. Hinds is Pastor Janae James, a young female activist from the neighborhood who also is thrust upon the national stage when she exposes the hypocrisy in the town.

Wise has the role of Shameeka Campbell, who lives in “the houses,” one of the worst parts of town. She opens up to the prosecutors about her son being killed by police and how they threatened to arrest her if she talked.

Shots Fired is produced by Undisputed Cinema and Imagine Television, in association with 20th Century Fox Television. The series is co-written by Gina Prince-Bythewood and Reggie Rock Bythewood. The project is executive-produced by Gina Prince-Bythewood, Reggie Rock Bythewood, Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo. Gina Prince-Bythewood will direct.
