Producer-Writer Nicci Gilbert-Daniels’ Short Film Social Conflict To Premiere At 9th Annual BronzeLens Film FestivalPosted by Wilson Morales

Atlanta-based production company NoEgo Entertainment is pleased to announce that its newest project, the riveting short film Social Conflict, has been chosen as an official selection of the prestigious BronzeLens Film Festival (BLFF) in Atlanta with the world premiere screening as part of the Festival taking place on August 23rd at 2pm at Atlanta Marriott Marquis, Screening Room 2 (265 Peachtree Center Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30303).
The film was also just selected as part of the Newark International Film Festival and the Capital City Black Film Festival in Austin, Texas.
Created by award-winning director, producer and singer Nicci Gilbert-Daniels and director, writer and actor Dwayne Barnes, Social Conflict is the gripping tale of a Detroit high school thrust into the national spotlight after an unthinkable tragedy occurs at the school. The film explores several hot button issues that have recently dominated headlines including gun violence in schools, sexual abuse and the education system in America.
“We are beyond thrilled with the positive responses to Social Conflict and so honored for the opportunity to premiere the film at the BronzeLens Film Festival. This project was a true labor of love so to be chosen as a selection for an Oscar Qualifying festival for the first time, specifically this festival, which has always been an amazing resource for filmmakers of color, is such a big deal for us,” said Nicci Gilbert-Daniels. “With everything going on in the world today, Social Conflict is a story that needed to be told and needs to be seen. As a producer, my greatest hopes is always that audiences will connect to the stories we are telling and, in this case, that it will resonate with them enough to spark conversation and action.”
Film Synopsis: Set in Detroit, MI, Social Conflict revolves around social issues prevalent in the world today, going beyond sensational headlines to examine how these subjects affect societal dynamics in America. In 30 minutes, the film tackles a myriad of complex topics including mental health, sexuality, sexual abuse, poverty, education, and gun violence in schools.
“Social Conflict” is the story of a decaying inner city Detroit School rocked by a shooting that opens up pandora’s box to reveal a den of iniquity that will rock the community to its core. This film is based on true events and has been a labor of love that the writers and producers believe will educate, inform and create awareness of the issues that inner city schools face daily. The film was shot in Detroit, Michigan at the alma mater of both the Writer and Director and the entire cast and crew are native Detroiters.
