Universal Pictures today announced that Ride Along 2 is set for release on January 15, 2016.
Kevin Hart and Ice Cube will return for the sequel to the hit action comedy, along with director Tim Story and producers Will Packer, Matt Alvarez and Larry Brezner.
Currently at $130M to date, ‘Ride Along’ started off with over $45M opening weekend and went on to be #1 at the box office for three straight weeks. It’s the first $100M grossing film for Will Packer.
In that film, a fast-talking guy (Hart) joins his girlfriend’s brother (Cube) —a hot-tempered cop—to patrol the streets of Atlanta, where he gets entangled in the officer’s latest case. Now, in order to prove that he deserves his future bride, he must survive the most insane 24 hours of his life.
