Sicario’s Daniel Kaluuya Nabs Male Lead In Jordan Peele Horror Pic ‘Get Out’Posted by Wilson Morales

Daniel Kaluuya, who was most recently seen opposite Emily Blunt in the action thriller Sicario, has landed the male lead in Jordan Peele‘s directorial debut Get Out.

The Ugandan English actor, comedian and writer will star opposite Allison Williams (HBO’s Girls) in the Blumhouse horror film about a young African-American man who visits his white girlfriend’s family estate.

The plot of the film hasn’t been released officially buy Peele recently stated that the pic “takes on the task of exploring race in America — something that hasn’t really been done within the genre since Night Of The Living Dead 47 years ago.”

This past September, Peele ended his comedy sketch series, Key & Peele, with Keegan Keegan-Michael Key after five seasons on Comedy Central.

Before Sicario, Kaluuya was best known for playing Posh Kenneth in the British teen-drama Skins, this is his first big role in a Hollywood film. Since being declared as a ‘UK Star of Tomorrow’ in 2009 by Screen International Magazine, Kaluuya has appeared on the London stage a number of times and also had a role on the Johnny English sequel, Johnny English Reborn. He’s also a writer, who’s written episodes for Skins and looking forward to doing a feature film.
