The L.A. Film Critics Association (LAFCA) convened Sunday evening to weigh in on their best pics of 2020, and black creatives walked away with quite a few honors.
Steve McQueen’s anthology series, Small Axe, receive Best Picture while McQueen was the runner up for Best Director. Chadwick Boseman won Best Actor for his role in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom while Radha Blank won the New Generation award for her Netflix series The 40-Year-Old Version. In the Best Documentary category; Garrett Bradley’s, Time, took the award. Hollywood veteran, Harry Belafonte, was honored with the Career Acheivment Award.
