Tessa Thompson has been cast as the upscale Cocker Spaniel ‘Lady’ opposite Justin Theroux’s ‘Tramp’ in Disney’s live-action/CGI hybrid remake of “Lady and the Tramp”.
The 1955 film follows a pampered cocker spaniel belonging to a well-to-do family, and Tramp, a streetwise mutt. When Tramp saves Lady from danger, he tries to teach her that there’s more to life than the inside of a house. Soon love blossoms.
The pair joins Ashley Jensen as the voice of Scottish Terrier Jackie, Benedict Wong as the voice of English bulldog Bull, and Kiersey Clemons as Lady’s human owner Darling.
Andrew Bujalski is penning the script and Charlie Bean (“The Lego Ninjago Movie”) is directing the remake which will debut exclusively on Disney’s upcoming digital streaming service to launch next year.
Thompson is currently on the big screen in ‘Sorry To Bother You.’
