According to THR, actress Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip, The Last O.G.) will voice a new lead character in Warner Bros. Pictures’ The LEGO Movie 2 the follow-up to the 2014 worldwide sensation The LEGO Movie.

Haddish joins returning voice cast members, including Chris Pratt as Master Builder Emmet Brickowoski, Elizabeth Banks as Wyldsyde, Will Arnett as Batman, Channing Tatum as Superman and Jonah Hill as Green Lantern.

The plot and details of Haddish’s character are being kept under wraps.

Mike Mitchell is directing the movie with Dan Lin and Roy Lee producing along with Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed the first film. The 2014 took in $469.1 million worldwide. Jill Wilfert from Lego Group, Chris McKay, and Jinko Gotoh are executive producing.

Lord and Miller wrote the first draft of the script for the sequel with Raphael Bob-Waksberg coming on board for a re-write. Matt Fogel has written the latest draft.

Hades is currently set to star opposite Melissa McCarthy in New Line’s “The Kitchen” and is also attached to star in the Universal comedy “The Temp.” will next be seen as host of the upcoming MTV Movie and TV Awards on June 18, and will be starring alongside Tracy Morgan in TBS’ “The Last OG,” which will be released in 2018. Her next film to hit theaters will be Kevin Hart in the comedy “Night School” on September 28.

The LEGO Movie Sequel is set for release on February 8, 2019.
