Paramount Pictures has released a trailer tease for Darren Aronofsky’s mother!, starring Academy Award winners Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem. The full trailer will be released on August 8.
mother! (which features both a lowercase “m” and an exclamation point as part of its official title) centers on a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence. It is rumored the film is loosely inspired by Rosemary’s Baby.
The cast of mother! also includes Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer, Domnhall Gleeson, Brian Gleeson, Stephen McHattie, Kristen Wiig, Jovan Adepo, and Amanda Warren.
Aronofsky is writing, directing and producing mother! through his own Protozoa Pictures along with Scott Franklin and Ari Handel. mother! is set to hit theaters on September 15.
