Focus Features and Blumhouse Productions have released an extended Red Band trailer to its the upcoming horror film Sinister 2, which hits theaters on August 21.
The sequel to the 2012 sleeper hit, Sinister 2 follows a protective mother (Shannyn Sossamon) and her 9-year-old twin sons (real-life twins Robert and Dartanian Sloan) as they find themselves in a rural house marked for death, the evil spirit of Bughuul continuing to spread with frightening intensity.
Directed by Ciaran Foy (Citadel), Sinister 2 also stars James Ransone and is scripted by Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill, the duo behind the original film. eOne is financing the sequel with Jason Blum and Derrickson producing and Charles Layton, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and eOne’s Xavier Marchand and Patrice Theroux executive producing.
