Grown-ish is a spin-off of Black-ish and follows the Johnsons’ eldest daughter Zoey (Yara Shahidi) as she goes to college, begins her journey to adulthood but quickly discovers that not everything goes her way once she leaves the nest. In January 2020, the series was renewed for a fourth season, while the second half of the third season premiered on January 21, 2021.
Main cast includes star Yara Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, and Trevor Jackson as her on-again-off-again boyfriend Aaron. There’s also Luka Sabbat who portrays Zoey’s former boyfriend Luca, Francia Raisa as Zoey’s roommate Ana, Emily Arlook as her friend Nomi, Chloe and Halle Bailey as twins Jazz and Sky Forster, and Diggy Simmons and Jordan Buhat as Aaron’s friends Doug and Vivek. Raigan Harris and Ryan Destiny who joined the cast in season 3 playing Rochelle and Jillian.
Created by Black-ish‘s Kenya Barris and Larry Wilmore, the series is produced by Khalabo Ink Society, Wilmore Films, Cinema Gypsy Productions and Principato-Young Entertainment, with Anthony Anderson, Brian Dobbins, and Helen Sugland acting as executive producers.
