Premiering on Thursday, Feb. 27 is a new series on SundanceTV called The Red Road, starring Martin Henderson, Jason Momoa, Julianne Nicholson, Tamara Tunie, Tom Sizemore, Annalise Basso, Allie Gonino, Kiowa Gordon, Antoni Corone and Lisa Bonet.
Created by Aaron Guzikowski, the drama revolves around a sheriff (Henderson) struggling to keep his family together while simultaneously policing two clashing communities: the small town where he grew up and the neighboring Ramapo Mountains, home of the Ramapo Mountain Indians. After a terrible tragedy and coverup occurs involving the sheriff’s wife (Nicholson), an unholy alliance is forged between the sheriff and Phillip Kopus (Momoa), a dangerous member of the Lenape Tribe and an ex-con whose suspicious return to Walpole threatens to up-end the fragile peace.
Tunie plays Marie Van Der Veen, a leader in the local Lenape tribe and sister to the chief who must deal with the recent return of her son Phillip.
Lisa Bonet will appear in a recurring role as a lawyer returning to her hometown to investigate a terrible tragedy committed against a member of her Native American tribe.
The first season will consist of six hour-long episodes.
