Warner Bros. has released a clip from the musical film, ‘Rock of Ages,’ featuring Mary J. Blige singing “Any Way You Want It.”
Directed by Adam Shankman, and based on the Broadway musical of the same name, the film stars Tom Cruise, Mary J. Blige, Julianne Hough, Alec Baldwin, Paul Giamatti, Diego Bonet, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Bryan Cranston, and Malin Akerman.
Based on the theater production, ‘“Rock of Ages” tells the story of small town girl Sherrie and city boy Drew, who meet on the Sunset Strip while pursuing their Hollywood dreams. Their rock ‘n’ roll romance is told through the heart-pounding hits of Def Leppard, Joan Jett, Journey, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, Whitesnake, and more.
Tom Cruise will play Stacee Jaxx in the film, while Mary J. Blige, the Queen of Hip Hop, will play Justice, the bartender and mother of the character named Sherrie. One of Justice’s main songs is the 80s chestnut, ‘Harden My Heart.’
Rock of Ages opens on June 15th.
