Viacom brands including MTV and BET will air the cross-channel world premiere of DIRTY COMPUTER: AN EMOTION PICTURE BY JANELLE MONÁE on Thursday, April 26. DIRTY COMPUTER: AN EMOTION PICTURE BY JANELLE MONÁE is a visually stunning Emotion Picture with a vibrant narrative featuring celebratory music videos that will accompany the GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter/performer/producer/actress/activist’s highly-anticipated third solo album, DIRTY COMPUTER, which comes out the next day on Friday, April 27.

Throughout April 26th, the 44-minute DIRTY COMPUTER: AN EMOTION PICTURE BY JANELLE MONÁE will air exclusively on MTV and BET channels worldwide including MTV, MTV2, MTV Live, mtvU, BET, BET Jams, BET Soul and BET Her in celebration of Monáe’s full album release on April 27th.

DIRTY COMPUTER: AN EMOTION PICTURE BY JANELLE MONÁE is a visually stunning story of a young woman named Jane 57821 (Janelle Monáe), who is living in a totalitarian near-future society where citizens are referred to as “computers.” Acclaimed actress Tessa Thompson co-stars. A timely and poignant Emotion Picture, Dirty Computer explores humanity and what truly happens to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness when mind and machines merge, and when the government chooses fear over freedom.

Thompson is best known for her roles in For Colored Girls (2010), Selma (2014), Creed (2015), and Thor: Ragnarok (2017). She recently had Little Woods play at the Tribeca Film Festival.

The DIRTY COMPUTER album is currently available for pre-order and arrives everywhere Friday, April 27th. DIRTY COMPUTER: AN EMOTION PICTURE BY JANELLE MONÁE is produced by Monáe and directed by Andrew Donoho and Chuck Lightning. previously released Dirty Computer tracks include “PYNK,” “Django Jane,” “I Like That,” and “Make Me Feel.”

Collaborators include an assortment of celebrated music video directors such as Alan Ferguson, Emma Westenberg and Lacey Duke, who directed powerful music videos for “Make Me Feel,” “PYNK,” and “I Like That” respectively. The project was heralded with a special teaser that premiered ahead of screenings of Marvel Studio’s history-making Black Panther.
