But one. Based on the DC comic book series by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra, Y traverses a world of women \u2014 exploring gender, race, class and survival.<\/p>\n<p>The story follows young amateur escape artist Yorick Brown and his pet monkey Ampersand, the last two males on Earth. Something simultaneously kills every mammal on Earth possessing a Y chromosome \u2013 including embryos, fertilized eggs, and even sperm.<\/p>\n<p>Society is plunged into chaos as infrastructures collapse and the surviving women everywhere try to cope with the loss of the men. Yorick goes on a mission to find his girlfriend Beth, who was on vacation in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Y: The Last Man is a 60-issue science fiction comic book series published beginning in 2002. It received three Eisner Awards, and received the first Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story for Y: The Last Man, Volume 10.<\/p>\n<p>Aida Mashaka Croal was a producer of Luke Cage. She also wrote and directed the episode Blowin&#8217; Up the Spot by herself and the episode You Know My Steez with Cheo Hodari Coker.
