He also wrote the script and will have a completely new take on the property, in which DC supervillains are recruited by the government to carry out secret missions too dirty for the likes of Superman and Batman.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignright size-medium wp-image-131448\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 300 200'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Suicide-Squad-22-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuicide Squad\u201d was directed and written by <strong>David Ayer<\/strong> and starred <strong>Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jared Leto, Ezra Miller, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Cara Delevingne<\/strong> and<strong> Joel Kinnaman<\/strong>. Davis joins Courtney, who will also be returning to reprise his role as\u00a0as George \u2018Digger\u2019 Harkness, aka Captain Boomerang. <strong>Idris Elba<\/strong> is on board to replace Smith as\u00a0Deadshot.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignleft size-medium wp-image-131449\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 220 300'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Suicide-Squad-premiere-Viola-Davis-220x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It grossed $325 million domestically and almost $750 million worldwide, although it was mostly panned by critics.<\/p>\n<p>Waller is basically in a similar capacity as Samuel L.
