Last night on May 2nd, the World Premiere of Pokemon Detective Pikachu<\/strong> took moviegoers by storm in New York City.<\/p>\n

Fans of the film beamed with excitement as Hollywood\u2019s favorite stars hit the red carpet in celebration of the film. Celebrities in attendance included Justice Smith, Ryan Reynolds, Kathryn Newton, Blake Lively, Suki Waterhouse, Ken Watanabe, Cynthia Nixon, Zazie Beet<\/strong>z and more.<\/p>\n

\u201cPokemon: Detective Pikachu,\u201d<\/strong> the first live-action \u201cPokemon\u201d movie from Legendary Entertainment starring Ryan Reynolds<\/strong>. The film opens in cinemas on May 10th 2019.<\/p>\n

The film also stars Justice Smith<\/strong>\u00a0as Tim, and Kathryn Newton<\/strong>\u00a0as Lucy, a junior reporter following her first big story; as well as Suki Waterhouse<\/strong>, Omar Chaparro<\/strong>, Chris Geere<\/strong>, with Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe<\/strong>\u00a0and Bill Nighy<\/strong>\u00a0.<\/span><\/p>\n

The story begins when ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim (Justice Smith)\u00a0<\/strong>to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry\u2019s former Pok\u00e9mon partner, Detective Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds)<\/strong>: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to work together, as Tim is the only human who can talk with Pikachu, they join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City\u2014a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pok\u00e9mon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world\u2014they encounter a diverse cast of Pok\u00e9mon characters and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pok\u00e9mon universe.<\/p>\n
