Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Doctor Sleep<\/strong>, the sequel to The Shining novel<\/strong> as well as the classic Stanley Kubrick movie adaptation.<\/p>\n

Doctor Sleep continues the story of Danny Torrance, 40 years after his terrifying stay at the Overlook Hotel in The Shining. Ewan McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson<\/strong> and newcomer Kyliegh Curran<\/strong> star in the supernatural thriller, directed by Mike Flanagan<\/strong>, from his own screenplay based upon the novel by Stephen King<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Still irrevocably scarred by the trauma he endured as a child at the Overlook, Dan Torrance has fought to find some semblance of peace. But that peace is shattered when he encounters Abra, a courageous teenager with her own powerful extrasensory gift, known as the \u201cshine.\u201d Instinctively recognizing that Dan shares her power, Abra has sought him out, desperate for his help against the merciless Rose the Hat and her followers, The True Knot, who feed off the shine of innocents in their quest for immortality.<\/p>\n

Doctor Sleep stars Ewan McGregor<\/strong> (\u201cStar Wars: Episodes I, II & III,\u201d \u201cT2 Trainspotting\u201d) as Dan Torrance, Rebecca Ferguson<\/strong> (the \u201cMission: Impossible\u201d films, \u201cThe Greatest Showman\u201d) as Rose the Hat, and Kyliegh Curran<\/strong>, in her major feature film debut, as Abra. The main ensemble cast also includes Carl Lumbly, Zahn McClarnon, Emily Alyn Lind, Bruce Greenwood, Jocelin Donahue, Alex Essoe<\/strong> and Cliff Curtis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Trevor Macy<\/strong> and Jon Berg<\/strong> produced the film, with Roy Lee, Scott Lumpkin, Akiva Goldsman<\/strong> and Kevin McCormick<\/strong> serving as executive producers.<\/p>\n

Flanagan\u2019s behind-the-scene creative team was led by director of photography Michael Fimognari<\/strong> (\u201cThe Haunting of Hill House\u201d), production designers Maher Ahmad<\/strong> (\u201cGet Hard\u201d) and Elizabeth Boller<\/strong> (\u201cHush\u201d), and costume designer Terry Anderson<\/strong> (\u201cDen of Thieves\u201d). The music score is composed by The Newton Brothers<\/strong> (\u201cThe Haunting of Hill House\u201d).<\/p>\n
