In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Mary J Blige\u2019s Iconic album “My Life,” BET Networks will celebrate the album with a special R&B Episode of Irv Gotti\u2019s anthology series, TALES.\u00a0This episode will air at 9pm on Tuesday, July 16<\/strong>, starring Grace Byers<\/strong> (Empire, The Gifted), multi-platinum recording artist Rick Ross<\/strong> as well as Debbi Morgan<\/strong> (All My Children, Power, The Quad, The Defenders), Ben Vereen<\/strong> (Star, Magnum P.I., Sneaky Pete, Roots, How I Met Your Mother) Elisabeth Rohm<\/strong> (Law & Order, NCIS),\u00a0Morocco Omari<\/strong> (Empire), and introducing Chasity Saunders.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Directed by veteran actress Tasha Smith<\/strong> (Why Did I Get Married, Daddies Little Girls, Star, Power), \u201cMy Life\u201d will bring to life Mary J. Blige\u2019s iconic song in a new light in the episode featuring Byers as lead character \u201cEdie.\u201d<\/p>\n

The title track from Mary\u2019s second studio album, \u201cMy Life\u201d was the last single released from the album in June of 1995. It samples heavily from Roy Ayers\u2019 “Everybody Loves the Sunshine\u201d and became a signature song for Blige, achieving great success at Urban radio. Thematically, the song explores attempts to both strive for better in life while also acknowledging and remaining true to emotions during a dark time.<\/span><\/p>\n
