Vertical Entertainment has released a trailer for their upcoming remake of the 1990 classic Jacob\u2019s Ladder<\/strong>. The film will hit theaters on August 23, 2019.<\/p>\n

The Jacob\u2019s Ladder remake is directed by David M. Rosenthal<\/strong> (The Perfect Guy) from the screenplay by co-writers Jeff Buhler<\/strong> and Sarah Thorp. It will star Michael Ealy, Jesse Williams, Nicole Beharie, Karla Souza, Guy Burnet<\/strong> and Joseph Sikora<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Sarah Thorp<\/strong> wrote the latest screenplay. Will Packer<\/strong>, through his\u00a0Will Packer Productions company, produced the film alongside\u00a0Michael Gaeta, Mickey Liddell, Jennifer Monroe<\/strong> and Alison Rosenzweig<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After the death of his brother in Afghanistan, Jacob Singer (Ealy) is finally getting his life back together. He has a beautiful wife (Beharie), a new born child and a successful career as surgeon in a VA hospital. When a stranger approaches him and tells him that his brother (Williams) is actually alive and living in an underground shelter with other homeless vets, Jacob\u2019s life starts to unravel. He begins hallucinating, believes he is being followed by violent attackers and becomes paranoid about the truth of what really happened to his brother. When he discovers that his brother is alive and addicted to an experimental drug, he uncovers a secret he never could have been prepared for.<\/p>\n
