HBO has released the full trailer for its\u00a0Watchmen<\/strong> series from Lost creator Damon Lindelof <\/strong>will air on\u00a0Sunday, Oct. 20 at 9\/8c.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Set in an alternate history where \u201csuperheroes\u201d are treated as outlaws, Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own. Originally published as a 12-issue miniseries beginning in 1986, Watchmen quickly become one of sequential art\u2019s most acclaimed stories. The original story centers on a murder-mystery before unfolding into a planet-altering conspiracy that ultimately asks where the fine line is drawn between heroes and villains.<\/p>\n

Lindelof had already stated that the series will be an original story with new faces and unknown characters introduced into the universe that he intends to remix.<\/p>\n

WATCHMEN reunites Lindelof with Regina King<\/strong> (HBO\u2019s \u201cThe Leftovers\u201d; Oscar\u00ae winner for \u201cIf Beale Street Could Talk\u201d; Emmy\u00ae winner for \u201cSeven Seconds\u201d and \u201cAmerican Crime\u201d; Golden Globe winner for \u201cIf Beale Street Could Talk\u201d).<\/p>\n

King leads the cast as Angela Abar, who wears two masks; one as a lead detective in The Tulsa Police Force and another as wife and mother of three. The cast also includes Jeremy Irons<\/strong> (Oscar\u00ae winner for \u201cReversal of Fortune\u201d; Emmy\u00ae winner for \u201cBig Cat Week\u201d and \u201cElizabeth I\u201d) as the aging and imperious Lord of a British Manor; Don Johnson<\/strong> (Golden Globe winner for \u201cMiami Vice\u201d) as Judd Crawford, Tulsa Chief of Police; Jean Smart<\/strong> (Emmy\u00ae winner for \u201cSamantha Who?\u201d and \u201cFrasier\u201d) as FBI Agent Laurie Blake; Tim Blake Nelson<\/strong> as Detective Looking Glass; Louis Gossett Jr.<\/strong> (Oscar\u00ae winner for \u201cAn Officer and a Gentleman\u201d; Emmy\u00ae winner for \u201cRoots\u201d) as Will Reeves; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II<\/strong> as Cal Abar; Tom Mison<\/strong> as Mr. Phillips; Frances Fisher<\/strong> as Jane Crawford and Sara Vickers<\/strong> as Ms. Crookshanks,\u00a0Adelaide Clemens<\/strong>\u00a0as Pirate Jenny,\u00a0Andrew Howard<\/strong>\u00a0as Red Scare.<\/p>\n
