Today, Acura Festival Village hosted the post-premiere party of Sylvie\u2019s Love<\/strong>,
\ncelebrating Eugene Ashe<\/strong>\u2019s period drama about a romance between an aspiring
\ntelevision producer and a talented saxophonist. The film\u2019s stars Nnamdi Asomugha,\u00a0<\/strong>Tessa Thompson<\/strong> and Eva Longoria<\/strong>, were all in attendance for the festivities.<\/p>\n

Additional guests included Nnamdi\u2019s wife Kerry Washington<\/strong> and singer songwriter Dev\u00a0<\/strong>Hynes<\/strong>. Mannequins styled in costumes from the film were placed around the room to contribute to the ambiance bringing guests back in time.<\/p>\n

Written and directed by Eugene Ashe,\u00a0the cast includes\u00a0<\/span>Tessa Thompson<\/b>,\u00a0Nnamdi Asomugha<\/b>,\u00a0Ryan Michelle Bathe,\u00a0Reg\u00e9-Jean Page,\u00a0<\/strong>Eva Longoria<\/b>,\u00a0Aja Naomi King<\/b>,\u00a0Wendi McLendon-Covey<\/b>,\u00a0Jemima Kirke, Alano Miller, MC Lyte, Tone Bell, Erica Gimpel,\u00a0John Magaro,\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>and\u00a0Lance Redick.<\/strong><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Set in \u201950s and \u201960s New York City, the story follows\u00a0aspiring television producer\u00a0<\/span>Sylvie (Thompson) as she meets aspiring saxophonist Robert (Asomugha) when he takes a job at her father\u2019s record store in Harlem. After a summer romance that comes to an end, the two fatefully reconnect several years later and find that their feelings for each other have never disappeared.<\/p>\n

Thompson produced the period drama, along with Asomugha through his iAm21 Entertainment and\u00a0Jonathan Baker<\/strong>\u00a0(The Banker),\u00a0Gabrielle Glore<\/strong>\u00a0(Dirty Laundry) and\u00a0Matthew Thurm<\/strong>\u00a0(Crown Heights).\u00a0The c<\/span>inematographer is\u00a0Declan Quinn<\/strong>\u00a0(Rachel Getting Married, Leaving Las Vegas).<\/p>\n
