Abrams and Katie McGrath<\/strong>\u2019s Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television Group, marking the first new Bad Robot\u2013produced television projects for HBO Max under the exclusive, wide-ranging content collaboration partnership formed by Bad Robot with HBO Max parent company WarnerMedia in fall 2019.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignright size-medium wp-image-143537\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 300 236'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Latoya-Morgan-J.J.-Abrams-300x236.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"236\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The first series <strong>\u201cDuster,\u201d<\/strong> is to be co-written by J.J. Abrams &amp;<strong> LaToya Morgan<\/strong>. Set in the 1970\u2019s Southwest, the life of a gutsy getaway driver for a growing crime syndicate goes from awful to wildly, stupidly, dangerously awful. Morgan is currently a writer on <strong>\u201cThe Walking Dead\u201d.<\/strong> Previously, she was a co-executive producer and writer of AMC\u2019s <strong>\u201cInto the Badlands\u201d<\/strong> and<strong> \u201cTURN: Washington\u2019s Spies,\u201d<\/strong> and was a writer for NBC\u2019s<strong> \u201cParenthood\u201d<\/strong> and Showtime\u2019s <strong>\u201cShameless.\u201d<\/strong> Produced by Warner Bros. Television.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignleft size-medium wp-image-143538\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 200 300'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Justice-League-Dark-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The second series,<strong> \u201cOverlook,\u201d<\/strong> is a horror-thriller series inspired by and featuring iconic characters from Stephen King&#8217;s masterpiece The Shining. &#8220;Overlook&#8221; explores the untold, terrifying stories of the most famous haunted hotel in American fiction. The project reunites Bad Robot, King and WBTV, who previously collaborated on the acclaimed psychological-horror series \u201cCastle Rock\u201d for Hulu.<\/p>\n<p>The third show is an untitled drama based on characters in the so-called <strong>&#8220;Justice League Dark&#8221;<\/strong> universe, details of which are being kept under wraps. JLD debuted in DC Comics in 2011 and is a team featuring magic-based characters such as\u00a0Zatanna, Deadman, Swamp Thing and John Constantine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cWhat an amazing start to our association with the wildly imaginative Bad Robot team under J.J. and Katie,\u201d<\/strong> said Kevin Reilly, Chief Content Officer, HBO Max and President, TNT, TBS, &amp; truTV. <strong>\u201cWhat could be better than an original J.J. idea and then Warner Bros. letting them loose on iconic I.P. from Stephen King and the DC Universe and to provide more must-have programming on HBO Max.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All of the Bad Robot series for HBO Max will be executive produced by J.J. Abrams and its Head of Television, Ben Stephenson. Rachel Rusch Rich, Bad Robot\u2019s Executive Vice President of Television will serve as a co-executive producer. Warner Bros. International Television Distribution will be the global distributor for the programs.<\/p>\n<p>Current Bad Robot television series produced through Warner Bros.
