Sure, it doesn\u2019t beat being in Miami, but it\u2019s the next best thing during a pandemic. This year\u2019s <strong>#ABFF2020<\/strong> event, which is dedicated to recognizing black talent and showcasing quality film and television content by and about people of African descent, was held virtually in response to the crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic and its disproportionate impact on communities of color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Creators\/producers <strong>Jeff<\/strong> and <strong>Nicole Friday<\/strong> could\u2019ve easily postponed the festival until next year, but instead they created an alternative outlet by launching<strong> ABFF<\/strong> Play, a streaming service and digital movie theater platform that showcases Black and Brown content, culture and creativity. The show must go on!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur goal is to create an alternative distribution outlet that will empower independent film filmmakers, artists and live event producers by giving them the opportunity to monetize their projects in a virtual environment,\u201d said<strong> Jeff Friday<\/strong>, CEO, Streamland USA, LLC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It doesn\u2019t get any better than 10 days, 90 films, 25 panels, virtual parties &amp; more! And speaking of parties, <strong>The Legendary White Party on Friday night<\/strong> (Co-sponsored by UMC and Moet Hennessy) with music by DJ Kiss &amp; M.O.S. was one for the books.
