Additional cast members include, <strong>Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson, Stanley Tucci, John Bradley and Charlie Plummer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The $136M-budgeted independent film will see a mysterious force knock the Moon from its orbit around Earth and send it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it. With only weeks before impact, a ragtag team launches a last-ditch mission into space to land on the lunar surface and save the planet from annihilation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Screen legend Sutherland will play the gatekeeper of NASA\u2019s secret archives, who struggles with his conscience whether to tell the world the truth about what really happened during the Apollo moon landings in the early seventies. <strong>Ikwuakor<\/strong> will play a high-ranking military official and estranged father to the son of Halle Berry\u2019s character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Deadline, Huayi Brothers is the main financier on the ambitious project, which has newly attracted finance from Karl Spoerri and Viviana Vezzani\u2019s recently launched SPG3 Entertainment. The Swiss and LA-based financier-producer will be funding the production\u2019s COVID-19 safety protocols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spoerri and Vezzani said:&nbsp;\u201cWe\u2019ve been long term admirers of Roland Emmerich\u2019s incredible range and his way of creating cultural milestones that can reach millions of people around the globe while crafting socially conscious messages at the same time. We had the pleasure of hosting him alongside producers Harald Kloser and Marco Shepherd during our last year at the helm of the Zurich Film Festival just over a year ago and also got to know them as wonderful people that we want to be in business with.
