Roscher hails from New York and Virginia and is currently working as a line-producer on HBO&#8217;s The Jinx. Short film synopsis: Amidst a racially tense Southern wedding, a biracial bride has the chance to confront her estranged Black father after accidentally hiring his wedding band to perform.\u00a0<span style=\"color:#ffffff\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Sundance Shorts Review: &#8216;White Wedding&#8217; by Melody C. Roscher<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Roscher&#8217;s film &#8220;White Wedding&#8221; takes a turn that you would never see coming.\u00a0 Every girl dreams of the perfect wedding and her beautiful day. Unlike most, this bride-played by Black Panther star Nabiyah Be, couldn&#8217;t wait to tell her father, played by Curtiss Cook [cast member of The Chi], how she truly felt about him leaving her at a young age during her wedding. Talk about the right place and time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 1 1'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/IMG-5741-1-1024x740.jpg\" alt=\"Nabiyah Be and Curtiss Cook appear in <i&gt;White Wedding\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-149698\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Hands down, this is a relatable film for women that grew up in a fatherless home. I enjoyed how Roscher created a build up to the moment when the bride shared her real feelings with her &nbsp;father. I think that Nabiyah Be&#8217;s character is powerful in this film. She spoke her mind and did not let excuses cloud her judgment. When asked, what inspired Roscher to make this film, she said, &#8220;I imagined the most terrifying thing that could happen in my life at the moment.&#8221; &nbsp;This film is an excellent film about closure. <span style=\"color:#ffffff\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Sundance Shorts Review: &#8216;White Wedding&#8217; by Melody C.
