The film highlights the Baltimore club music and dance culture scene. It boasts an original Baltimore club music soundtrack, featuring club artists, DJs, dancers, producers, and Baltimore\u2019s budding creative community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Dark City Beneath the Beat” offers a unique glimpse into the characteristics of the city\u2019s landscape and social climate to its creative LGBTQ community, showcasing Baltimore club music as a positive subculture in a city often overshadowed by trauma, drugs, and violence.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film is produced by Issa Rae and Deniese Davis through their\u00a0management production company ColorCreative.\u00a0In addition to the Netflix premiere, TT will also be dropping its soundtrack through Issa Rae\u2019s\u00a0Raedio.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The soundtrack,\u00a0titled,\u00a0Dark City Beneath The Beat Original Motion Picture Soundtrack<\/em>\u00a0is a fusion of Baltimore club music intermixed with poetry, hip hop, house, and soul. The soundtrack is available on all digital streaming music platforms including Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal among others.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the featured artists is Baltimore-based singer, songwriter, and musician Sunny Cowell, who sings the catchy “Center of Attention”:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
