All six episodes dropped at once on\u00a0<strong>Peacock<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WE ARE LADY PARTS\u00a0<\/strong>(fka Lady Parts)<strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>is an anarchic, joyful and irreverent music comedy following a Muslim female punk band \u2013 called Lady Parts \u2013 who are on a mission to find a lead guitarist and maybe, just maybe, get a proper gig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The series is written, created and directed by Nida Manzoor, who has drawn on her own experiences and taken inspiration from the rich and diverse cultural collectives and artists in London, and boasts an exciting ensemble cast of fresh British acting talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WE ARE LADY PARTS<\/strong>\u00a0shows the highs and lows of the band \u2013 Lady Parts \u2013 as seen through the eyes of Amina Hussain \u2013\u00a0a geeky microbiology PhD student, who\u2019s on the lookout for love and is recruited to be their unlikely lead guitarist. Lady Parts\u2019 fierce and enigmatic frontwoman Saira sees something in Amina. However, the other members \u2013 taxi-driving drummer Ayesha, cartoon-drawing bassist and backing vocalist Bisma and the band\u2019s wheeler-dealer band manager Momtaz \u2013 are not convinced she is right for their band. Amina has never met girls like this before, and she\u2019s soon swept up in their joyful, anarchic energy and punk spirit. But she becomes torn and caught up between two different worlds \u2013 that of her more strait-laced university friends led by her bestie Noor and the world of Lady Parts. Will she be the key to the band\u2019s success? And &#8211; will she finally find a husband?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WE ARE LADY PARTS<\/strong>\u00a0is at once an unapologetically bold comedy and a joyful celebration of the richness and diversity found in contemporary London, whilst also an exploration on the fundamental questions of life:\u00a0<em>Who am I? Where and with whom do I belong?<\/em>\u00a0But ultimately it\u2019s about funny women with real agency, forging their own lives and identities in a world determined to do it for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The series stars Anjana Vasan (\u201cAmina Hussain\u201d), Sarah Kameela Impey (\u201cSaira\u201d), Juliette Motamed (\u201cAyesha\u201d), Faith Omole (\u201cBisma\u201d), Lucie Shorthouse (\u201cMomtaz\u201d), Zaqi Ismail (\u201cAhsan\u201d), and Aiysha Hart (\u201cNoor\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The series is packed with original punk songs and surprising cover tracks, written and adapted by Nida and her siblings Shez Manzoor, who also scored the show, Sanya Manzoor and Benni Fregin.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From Working Title Television (WTTV), which is part of NBCUniversal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group,\u00a0<strong>WE ARE LADY PARTS<\/strong>\u00a0was created, written and directed by Nida Manzoor.
