Netflix has released Army of Thieves<\/a><\/strong> first look images for the action-packed prequel to Zack Snyder’s\u00a0Army\u00a0of the Dead<\/a>, directed by and starring Matthias Schweigh\u00f6fer. Army of Thieves<\/em>\u00a0is scheduled to be released in late 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this prequel, small-town bank teller Dieter gets drawn into the adventure of a lifetime when a mysterious woman recruits him to join a crew of Interpol’s most wanted criminals, attempting to heist a sequence of legendary, impossible-to-crack safes across Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In September 2020, it was announced that the film, then known as\u00a0Army of the Dead: The Prequel<\/em>, was in development at\u00a0Netflix.\u00a0Filming took place in Germany, and finished in December 2020.\u00a0In a February 2021 interview, Deborah Snyder referred to the film as\u00a0Army of Thieves<\/em>. That same month,\u00a0Army of the Dead<\/em>\u00a0composer\u00a0Tom Holkenborg\u00a0confirmed that he would be working on both the prequel and the tie-in animated series\u00a0Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas<\/em>.\u00a0In April 2021, Zack Snyder confirmed that this was the official title.[<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n
