1555Filmworks latest project, White People Money<\/em>, is set to debut on STARZ<\/a> October 1. The film stars actress Drew Sidora (Step Up<\/em>, Crazy Sexy Cool: The TLC Story<\/em>)<\/strong> and Barton Fitzpatrick (The Chi<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In White People Money<\/em>, MacKenzie Scott – ex-wife of multi-billionaire Jeff Bezos – pledges to give away 15 billion dollars to 15 winners. Kareem (Fitzpatrick) and Nora (Sidora) are a couple living in the hood on the Southside of Chicago who happen to be one of the 15 lucky recipients who attempt to hide it from greedy friends, family, and strangers alike, while still trying to enjoy their newfound wealthy status. The film also stars\u00a0Aaron D. Spears (The Bold and the Beautiful, Being Mary Jane<\/em>),\u00a0Dawn Noel,\u00a0Nicole Arbour, and\u00a0Sarah Cigan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

White People Money<\/em>\u00a0is both written and directed by filmmaker\u00a0Mark Harris<\/strong><\/a>. Previously, Harris has directed\u00a0Holla If You Hear Me, I Used to Love Her, Black Butterfly, Black Coffee, No Regrets, Couples’ Night, Nothing Like Thanksgiving, House Behind The Tracks<\/em>, and\u00a0Everyday But Christmas<\/em>. The film is produced by Bailey Brown and Zohra. Vertical Entertainment serves as the distributor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harris’\u00a0latest theatrical release was\u00a02014’s Black Coffee<\/em>, starring Darrin Dewitt Henson (Soul Food, Stomp the Yard<\/em>)\u00a0and\u00a0Gabrielle Dennis (The Game, Rosewood<\/em>),\u00a0which had a limited release on six screens.
