He is best known for his memorable roles in films, such as \u201cBoyz In The Hood,\u201d \u201cThe Brothers,\u201d \u201cThe Perfect Holiday,\u201d \u201cThink Like A Man\u201d and the commercially and critically acclaimed \u201cThe Best Man,\u201d as well as its successful sequel, \u201cThe Best Man Holiday.\u201d Chestnut received an NAACP Image Award nomination in the category of Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture for his performance as \u201cLance Sullivan\u201d in \u201cThe Best Man Holiday.\u201d Chestnut currently is preparing to reprise this role in the limited series \u201cThe Best Man: The Final Chapters.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He currently stars in FOX\u2019s THE RESIDENT as \u201cDr. Barrett Cain,\u201d an intimidating neurosurgeon who believes himself to be a superman physician, capable of curing crippling diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Immediately prior, Chestnut starred in the network drama series \u201cThe Enemy Within.\u201d For his performance as \u201cDr. Beaumont Rosewood Jr.\u201d on \u201cRosewood,\u201d Chestnut received his fourth NAACP Image Award nomination in the category of Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chestnut\u2019s most recent films include \u201cWhen the Bough Breaks,\u201d \u201cThe Perfect Guy\u201d and the heist thriller \u201cBus 657,\u201d opposite Robert De Niro.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He starred opposite Halle Berry in \u201cThe Call,\u201d which became a surprise critical and commercial success. From writer and executive producer Karin Gist (\u201cStar,\u201d \u201cGrey\u2019s Anatomy\u201d) and executive producer Lee Daniels (\u201cEmpire,\u201d \u201cThe United States Vs. Billie Holiday\u201d), OUR KIND OF PEOPLE follows a strong-willed, single mom as she sets out to reclaim her family\u2019s name and make an impact with her revolutionary haircare line that highlights the innate, natural beauty of Black women. But she soon discovers a dark secret about her own mother\u2019s past that will turn her world upside-down and shake up this community forever.
