{"id":158324,"date":"2021-12-02T01:56:35","date_gmt":"2021-12-02T06:56:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/?p=158324"},"modified":"2021-12-02T02:05:38","modified_gmt":"2021-12-02T07:05:38","slug":"toni-braxton-angie-harmon-lifetime-films-add-kelly-hu-eddie-cibrian-kristoffer-polaha-to-cast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/toni-braxton-angie-harmon-lifetime-films-add-kelly-hu-eddie-cibrian-kristoffer-polaha-to-cast\/","title":{"rendered":"Toni Braxton &amp; Angie Harmon Lifetime Films Add Kelly Hu, Eddie Cibrian &amp; Kristoffer Polaha To Cast"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mylifetime.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>\u202f<\/strong>Lifetime<\/a> has rounded out the casts for the two new Toni Braxton and Angie Harmon led and executive produced films <em>Fallen Angels Murder Club<\/em> and <em>Barstow<\/em> (working titles). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toni Braxton\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Fallen Angels Murder Club <\/em>(previously <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/2021\/09\/toni-braxton-set-to-headline-ep-lifetimes-the-fallen-angels-book-club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fallen Angels Book Club<\/a><\/em>) adds&nbsp;Eddie Cibrian&nbsp;(<em>Northern Lights, CSI Miami<\/em>) for the first installment of the films while&nbsp;Kelly Hu&nbsp;(<em>List of a Lifetime, Scorpion King<\/em>) joins the cast of the second film.&nbsp; Cibrian stars as Avery Mitchell, Hollis Morgan\u2019s (Toni Braxton) charismatic boss, while Hu will make her debut in the second installment as the mysterious Joelle.&nbsp; Both productions have started filming and will premiere in 2022.&nbsp; Additionally, Angie Harmon\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Barstow&nbsp;<\/em>(working title) movies has added&nbsp;Kristoffer Polaha&nbsp;(<em>Jurassic World: Dominion, Wonder Woman 1984<\/em>) to the project as Elliot, a mysterious stranger with a troubling past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first installment of <em>Fallen Angels Murder Club <\/em>(working title), the members of&nbsp;<em>The Fallen Angels Murder Club&nbsp;<\/em>must&nbsp;have two things in common &#8211; a love for books and have a criminal record. Hollis Morgan (Braxton) meets both requirements. Left holding the bag in an insurance fraud scheme concocted by her ex-husband, Hollis served her time and now hopes the court will pardon her conviction so she can return to law school and fulfill her dream of becoming a lawyer. But when a member of her book club is murdered in a scene straight out of the previous night\u2019s novel, Hollis once again becomes the subject of police scrutiny. Refusing to get stuck with another bad rap, Hollis sets out to investigate her fellow club members and after a second book-inspired murder, she races to identify the killer before she becomes the next victim.&nbsp; Additional cast include Keith D. Robinson&nbsp;(<em>Dreamgirls, Saints &amp; Sinners<\/em>), Lisa Berry (<em>Working Moms, Supernatural<\/em>), Yanic Truesdale (<em>Gilmore Girls<\/em>), Kaitlyn Leeb (<em>Spinning Out<\/em>), Humberly Gonzalez (<em>Ginny &amp; Georgia<\/em>), Rainbow Sun Francks (<em>Umbrella Academy<\/em>), Henderson Wade (<em>Dear White People, Riverdale<\/em>),&nbsp;Rob Stewart (<em>Killjoys, Suits, Nikita<\/em>), Raoul Bhaneja (<em>Blind Spot, Clarice, The Lost Symbol<\/em>)&nbsp;and Shawn Ahmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Fallen Angels Murder Club<\/em>&nbsp;films fall in line with Lifetime&#8217;s Broader Focus initiative which supports the hiring of women in key production roles. &nbsp;The movies are produced for Lifetime by Brain Power Studio and executive produced by Beth Stevenson, Nancy Yeaman, Toni Braxton and Rhonda Baraka. The films are written and directed by Baraka.&nbsp;\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <em>Barstow <\/em>(working title), Harmon stars as Hazel King, a single mother&nbsp;determined to shield her daughter from the life she once had while protecting and defending those who can&#8217;t protect themselves.
