Sub Eleven Seconds<\/em> is a poetic imagining of the quest of Sha’Carri Richardson, a young track & field athlete, to achieve her dream of qualifying for the Olympic Games. Sprinting the 100-meter dash is one of the most expressive feats a human being can attempt; what is it like to spend years of one’s life dedicated to clocking the shortest conceivable time? A rumination on time, loss, and hope, Sub Eleven Seconds<\/em> distills the proverbial “10,000 hours” along Sha’Carri’s path to master her craft, as she seeks to run the 100-meter dash in under 11 seconds on the world’s stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shot on location during the U.S.A. Track & Field Olympic Trials in June 2021,\u00a0Sub Eleven Seconds<\/em>\u00a0was commissioned and produced by Architecture Films, an independent film collective founded by Virgil Abloh, Mahfuz Sultan, and Chloe Sultan. In association with Architecture Films, the film was directed by Bafic, an award-winning artist and filmmaker.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film is directed by Bafic, executive produced by Virgil Abloh, produced by Chloe Sultan & Mahfuz Sultan. Cinematography is by Ben Kutchins and edited by Harry Yoon, ACE, with an original score by Asma Maroof & Daniel Pineda<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bafic<\/a>\u00a0is an award-winning artist and filmmaker based in London and the internet. Bafic’s work has been commissioned by artists and brands including Neneh Cherry, Louis Vuitton, Kiko Kostadinov, Off-White, A-COLD-WALL*, and Gucci.
