Showtime has\u00a0released the first five minutes of upcoming drama series<\/a>\u00a0The Man Who Fell To Earth,\u00a0<\/em>following its\u00a0SXSW world premiere today. The new series stars Oscar nominees Chiwetel Ejiofor and Naomie Harris, along with\u00a0Jimmi Simpson, Rob Delaney, Sonya Cassidy, Joana Ribeiro, Annelle Olaleye, Kate Mulgrew, Clarke Peters and Bill Nighy. The series will debut on\u00a0Sunday, April 24 at\u00a010 p.m ET\/PT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by\u00a0the Walter Tevis<\/a> novel of the same name and the iconic\u00a0David Bowie\u00a0film,\u00a0The Man Who Fell To Earth<\/em><\/em> will follow a new alien character (Ejiofor) who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution and must confront his own past to determine our future. Harris plays Justin Falls, a brilliant scientist and engineer who must conquer her own demons in the race to save two worlds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Man Who Fell To Earth<\/em><\/em>  <\/em>is executive produced by Alex Kurtzman, Jenny Lumet, John Hlavin, Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Heather Kadin, Aaron Baiers, Chiwetel Ejiofor and STUDIOCANAL\u2019s Rola Bauer and Fran\u00e7oise Guyonnet. The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Timberman\/Beverly.
