Showtime has released the official trailer for\u00a0I Love That For You\u00a0<\/em>the half-hour comedy series starring and executive produced by Emmy nominee Vanessa Bayer (Saturday Night Live<\/em>), with fellow nominee Molly Shannon (The White Lotus<\/em>) and Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Jenifer Lewis<\/a> (Black-ish)\u00a0<\/em>also leading the cast. The series will premiere on Friday, April 29 on streaming and on demand for all Showtime subscribers, before making its on-air debut on Sunday, May 1 at 8:30 p.m. ET\/PT. The eight-episode season will continue to drop a new episode every Friday via streaming and on-demand platforms before appearing on air Sunday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by\u00a0Bayer\u2019s own story of overcoming childhood leukemia<\/a>,\u00a0I Love\u00a0That\u00a0For You<\/em>\u00a0centers on Joanna Gold (Bayer) who dreams of becoming a host at a home shopping channel. Working to shed her life-long label as “that cancer girl,” she moves away from her parents, starts a budding romance for the first time in her adult life and forms a meaningful friendship with her idol Jackie\u00a0(Shannon),\u00a0the charismatic star of the\u00a0network,\u00a0all against the backdrop of a highly competitive workplace where people play dirty to succeed. Lewis plays Patricia, the icy, enigmatic founder and CEO of the popular home shopping channel.\u00a0Additional series regulars include\u00a0Paul James (Soundtrack<\/em>) as Jordan,\u00a0a charming but dry\u00a0stage manager; Ayden\u00a0Mayeri\u00a0(Homecoming<\/em>) as Beth Ann, an ambitious insecure host;\u00a0Matt\u00a0Rogers (Haute Dog<\/em>) as\u00a0Darcy, the ingratiating right-hand man to Patricia;\u00a0and Emmy nominee\u00a0Punam\u00a0Patel (Special<\/em>) as\u00a0Beena, an offbeat backstage producer. Johnno Wilson (Curb Your Enthusiasm<\/em>) guest stars as Perry,\u00a0a beloved host on the\u00a0network\u00a0with a popular cooking show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I Love That For Y<\/em>ou\u00a0is co-created and executive produced by Bayer and Emmy nominee and two-time Peabody winner Jeremy\u00a0Beiler\u00a0(Saturday Night Live)<\/em>. Emmy and Peabody winner Jessi Klein (Inside Amy Schumer<\/em>) will serve as showrunner and executive producer along with Michael Showalter (The Dropout, The Eyes of Tammy Faye)<\/em>.
