Some critics argue the visuals do not look vibrant or like an underwater experience. Clearly those pushing this narrative forget the opening scene in <em>The Little Mermaid<\/em> takes place under the cover of night in an underwater cave where Ariel hides her human treasures from the eyes of her father. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div id=\"g1-fluid-wrapper-counter-1\" class=\"g1-fluid-wrapper \" style=\"width:662px;\" data-g1-fluid-width=\"662\" data-g1-fluid-height=\"372\">\n\t       <div class=\"g1-fluid-wrapper-inner\" style=\"padding-bottom:56.19335347432%;\">\n\t       <div class=\"mace-youtube\" data-mace-video=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0-wPm99PF9U?showinfo=0&#038;rel=1&#038;ytp-pause-overlay=1&#038;autoplay=1&#038;enablejsapi=1\" data-mace-video-thumb=\"https:\/\/img.youtube.com\/vi\/0-wPm99PF9U\/hqdefault.jpg\"><div class=\"mace-play-button\"><\/div><\/div>\n\t       <\/div>\n\t       <\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course there are still threads popping up complaining of Ariel\u2019s depiction by a black woman. Some of these opinions are based on the original character being created by a Danish author.
