Carter became the first Black woman to win two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oscars.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Oscars<\/a> in any category when she took home the prestigious statue for Best Costume Design for <em>Black Panther: Wakanda Forever<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>blackfilm.com correspondent <strong>Ro Carter<\/strong> was in the Oscar press room and asked Carter about her approach to designing the film following the epic win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div id=\"g1-fluid-wrapper-counter-1\" class=\"g1-fluid-wrapper \" style=\"width:662px;\" data-g1-fluid-width=\"662\" data-g1-fluid-height=\"372\">\n\t       <div class=\"g1-fluid-wrapper-inner\" style=\"padding-bottom:56.19335347432%;\">\n\t       <div class=\"mace-youtube\" data-mace-video=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/N6EvEh-etj8?showinfo=0&#038;rel=1&#038;ytp-pause-overlay=1&#038;autoplay=1&#038;enablejsapi=1\" data-mace-video-thumb=\"https:\/\/img.youtube.com\/vi\/N6EvEh-etj8\/hqdefault.jpg\"><div class=\"mace-play-button\"><\/div><\/div>\n\t       <\/div>\n\t       <\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Carter took home her first Oscar for <em>Black Panther<\/em> in 2018 making history then as the first Black woman to win in the category. She was previously nominated for the award in 1992 for her work on <strong>Spike Lee<\/strong> film <em>Malcolm X<\/em> and again in 1997 for <strong>Steven Spielberg<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Amistad<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her expansive resume includes iconic films like <em>School Daze<\/em>, <em>I&#8217;m Gonna Git You Sucka<\/em>, <em>Do the Right Thing<\/em>, <em>The Five Heartbeats<\/em>, <em>What&#8217;s Love Got to Do with It<\/em>, <em>Crooklyn<\/em>, <em>B*A*P*S<\/em>, <em>How Stella Got Her Groove Back<\/em>, <em>Love &amp; Basketball<\/em>, <em>Bamboozled<\/em>, <em>Baby Boy<\/em>, <em>Coming 2 America<\/em> and many many many more!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 1 1'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/95_AR_0154-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-164199\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Oscar\u00ae nominee Ruth E.
