The event will be held at the Auburn Avenue Research Library in Atlanta Ga.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AAFCA has been uniting and amplifying the voices of Black film critics and arts entertainment journalists for 20 years. The AAFCA SYNERGY 10 Awards recognizes leaders in the film and television industry for their impact in moving the industry forward. This year\u2019s recipient, Kathleen Bertrand, is a pivotal figure shaping Atlanta\u2019s arts and entertainment landscape and has been a voice for diversity through her position at the helm of the <a href=\"https:\/\/bronzelens.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BronzeLens Film Festival<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 1 1'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Kathleen-Bertrand-1024x1001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-164536\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Kathleen Bertrand &#8211; Courtesy of AAFCA<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I am so grateful to receive this honor on behalf of BronzeLens Film Festival from AAFCA,&#8221; says Bertrand. &#8220;With Atlanta being recognized around the globe as a center of film and television production, I&#8217;m delighted that BronzeLens has been able to play a role in giving voice to the many unheralded stories of people of color in this community and worldwide.\u201d The festival is also an approved Oscar-qualifying\u00a0 festival in the Short Film category and consistently ranks in the top of festivals servicing diverse audiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 1 1'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/aafca-synergy-banner-1024x107.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-164538\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded in 2003 by <strong>Gil Robertson <\/strong>and <strong>Shawn Edwards<\/strong>, AAFCA actively reviews films while emphasizing the projects that celebrate the African-American experience.
