The winners will be announced at the Critics\u2019 Choice Movie Awards ceremony on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 9:00 PM ET\/PT. This year\u2019s event will again take place at the Hollywood Palladium. This is the fourth year in a row that VH1 will broadcast the gala live on the network and the first year the show will also be broadcast internationally.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/CCMA-logo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignleft size-full wp-image-3033\" title=\"CCMA logo\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 291 141'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/CCMA-logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"291\" height=\"141\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBlack Swan\u201d received an unprecedented 12 nominations for the 16th annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vh1.com\/shows\/events\/critics_choice\/_2011\/\">Critics\u2019 Choice Movie Awards<\/a>, garnering nods for Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Editing, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup, Best Sound and Best Score.  \u201cTrue Grit\u201d and \u201cThe King\u2019s Speech\u201d followed close behind with 11 nominations each, while \u201cInception\u201d received 10 nominations and \u201cThe Social Network\u201d garnered 9.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToy Story 3\u201d was honored in the Best Picture and Best Animated Feature categories while two Best Picture nominees, \u201cInception\u201d and \u201cThe Town,\u201d were also recognized in the Best Action Movie category. \u201c127 Hours,\u201d \u201cThe Fighter\u201d and \u201cWinter\u2019s Bone\u201d also scored multiple nominations, including Best Picture.<\/p>\n<p>Nicole Kidman received her record seventh acting nomination for Best Actress in \u201cRabbit Hole.\u201d  She won the first Critics\u2019 Choice Award as Best Actress 15 years ago for \u201cTo Die For.\u201d  Later Kidman was nominated for Best Actress in \u201cCold Mountain,\u201d \u201cThe Hours\u201d and \u201cMoulin Rouge,\u201d in addition to being part of the nominated Acting Ensembles in \u201cNine\u201d and \u201cThe Hours.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amy Adams will be seeking her second Critics\u2019 Choice Award as a Best Supporting Actress nominee in \u201cThe Fighter.\u201d  Adams previously won the category for \u201cJunebug\u201d and has received three other nods from the BFCA, including one for Best Actress in \u201cEnchanted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-year-old Jennifer Lawrence earned nods in both the Best Actress and Best Young Actor\/Actress categories, among the four nominations for \u201cWinter\u2019s Bone,\u201d while fourteen-year-old Hailee Steinfeld earned nods as both Best Supporting Actress and Best Young Actor\/Actress for \u201cTrue Grit,\u201d contributing to its 11 nominations. Thirteen-year-old Chloe Grace Moretz was nominated in the Best Young Actor\/Actress category twice for \u201cLet Me In\u201d and \u201cKick-Ass.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brothers Joel and Ethan Coen continue to be Critics\u2019 Choice favorites, nominated jointly for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay for \u201cTrue Grit.\u201d  Previously they had shared Best Director honors for \u201cNo Country For Old Men,\u201d and were nominated as writers of \u201cThe Man Who Wasn\u2019t There,\u201d \u201cA Serious Man\u201d and \u201cNo Country For Old Men.\u201d  \u201cNo Country For Old Men\u201d and \u201cFargo\u201d also won Critics\u2019 Choice Awards as Best Picture.<\/p>\n<p>The 250 members of the BFCA, the largest film critics\u2019 organization in the United States and Canada, representing television, radio and online critics, selected nominees in each of 25 categories.  The awards are bestowed annually to honor the finest in cinematic achievement.  Eligible films were released in 2010. The accounting firm of Gregory A. Mogab tallied the written ballots.<\/p>\n<p>Historically, the Critics\u2019 Choice Movie Awards are the most accurate predictor of the Academy Award nominations.  All four major acting category winners at the Academy Awards in 2010 were first Critics\u2019 Choice Movie Awards winners in the same categories and were present at the January 15, 2010 ceremony to graciously give their first acceptance speeches of the awards season. The BFCA also recognized \u201cThe Hurt Locker\u201d for Best Picture and Kathryn Bigelow as Best Director, making her the first female to win the award. \u201cThe Hurt Locker\u201d and Bigelow also went on to win the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director, but were both overlooked at the Golden Globes.<\/p>\n<p>Today, VH1 also announces the launch of its Critics\u2019 Choice Movie Awards site at <a href=\"https:\/\/criticschoice.vh1.com\/\">CriticsChoice.VH1.com<\/a>.
