AMC Stubs (#AMCStubs) Challenge Week 1<\/strong>by Wilson Morales<\/p>\n

After seven full days, I never thought that I would see this many films in a week, let alone in different theaters and in different states. It’s one thing if you stay at one theater and go from one screening room to another, but it’s another when you have to travel and rely on luck when trying to make the next showing within a certain time.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

With my competitors and fellow movie \u201cbloggers\u201d (Mike Eisenberg<\/strong> of Screenrant<\/strong><\/a>, myself, and Steve \u2018Frosty\u2019 Weintraub<\/strong> of Collider<\/strong><\/a>) located in other states, we each have to travel to areas we’ve never gone to in order to rack up points in our AMC Search For Stubs contest<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

After getting the game going by seeing Scream 4 on the first day, I then traveled to California for work, and managed to get in a film at the AMC theater at Century City. Working all day last Saturday gave Mike and Frosty a day up on me as I did nothing on a day when it’s convenient to go see as many films.<\/p>\n

Leaving on the redeye, and sitting in a first class seat, gave my body to get a good rest and be ready for what I call an epic marathon of movies. The question I asked myself was, “Can I actually do it? See 7 films in 7 theaters in NYC in one day?<\/p>\n

If you happen to live in NY, be an avid moviegoer, and challenge yourself, then it can be done. Working my way down, I started on 125th Street with Insidious, then to AMC Lincoln Sq to catch a 40 minute IMAX film, then back up to 84th to see Matt Damon in the Adjustment Bureau. After that, caught the subway to go 3 stops down to Times Square and saw Russell Brand in Arthur, then walked down 8 blocks to see James Franco in Your Highness at AMC 34th St. A short ride from there to AMC 19th St., I made the 9pm showing of Source Code, and when that was over, a quick 5 min ride to AMC Loews Village on 11th St., I made my final destination and saw Sucker Punch.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

If anyone thinks it couldn’t be done, believe me, I did it. Must thank the studios for providing numerous trailers that run in front of all showings. That bought me time to not miss out an anything.<\/p>\n

From there on, it was a matter of completing the run of NYC theaters, and this involved catching a few repeats. So far, I’ve been in 3 states, 12 new theaters, and seen over 15 films. I lost track on much popcorn and soda I’ve bought for myself and friends.<\/p>\n

While the weight falls on me to travel and see loads of films, there\u2019s a way you can help me get over the threshold.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what you need to know about the Stubs programs at AMC: if you live near an AMC theater you want to get the card. What it does is collect every dollar you spend (either on concessions or tickets) and when you\u2019ve spent $100, you get $10 in rewards back. It\u2019s basically like a 10% off card. In addition, you get free upgrades. So if you buy a small drink, with the card, they give you a medium. Same for popcorn.<\/p>\n

Also, if you\u2019re someone that likes buying tickets online, if you use a Stubs card, you don\u2019t pay online ticketing fees at either MovieTickets.com or Fandango.<\/p>\n
