He\u2019s relentlessly seeking the return of his stolen shipment of gasoline.<\/p>\n<p>Making her screen debut as the beautiful night club denizen Nora, the girlfriend of a tough local crime boss who is wooed by Riva is the gorgeous Paris-based actress <strong>Manie Malone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-8624\" href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/2011\/06\/viva-riva-manie-malone-interview\/manie-malone-3\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignright size-medium wp-image-8624\" title=\"Manie Malone\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 206 300'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Manie-Malone-206x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"206\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Born in Africa and raised in France, Malone has starred in several French television series including Femmes de Loi, Seconde Chance, and La Vie est \u00e0 Nous.<\/p>\n<p>In speaking with <strong>Blackfilm.com<\/strong>, Malone talks about her character and working with cast of this film.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How would you describe your character?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Manie Malone:<\/strong> This is a very entertaining movie and my character is a woman who is hurting all the time, physically and psychologically. She\u2019s losing faith in herself because her man doesn\u2019t look at her with love and passion anymore. She\u2019s being looked at as a sexual object. She\u2019s not pregnant and has nothing to give to life; so she\u2019s lost her hope and would like to be born again and comes alive again after meeting with Riva.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-8625\" href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/2011\/06\/viva-riva-manie-malone-interview\/viva-riva-19-2\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignleft size-medium wp-image-8625\" title=\"Viva Riva 19\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 300 168'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Viva-Riva-19-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Are there any character traits that similar to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MM: <\/strong>Loneliness. I know how it is to feel alone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How was working with the cast?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MM:<\/strong> It was interesting to me, especially working with the actors from Kinshasa. They give you what you want from the heart. It was exciting to work with them because it gave me a chance to learn again. You learn something new when working with different actors. I\u2019m very close with the actors when working on a film and with this film, it was a sharing experience.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-8626\" href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/2011\/06\/viva-riva-manie-malone-interview\/manie-malone-and-director-djo-tunda-wa-munga-2\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignright size-medium wp-image-8626\" title=\"Manie Malone and Director Djo Tunda wa Munga\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 300 225'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Manie-Malone-and-Director-Djo-Tunda-wa-Munga-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>How was working with Director Djo Tunda wa Munga?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MM:<\/strong> I learned to push myself more. I\u2019m hard working person and like to be challenged, and Djo Tunda gave me the possibility to get where I want to be an actress. I worked hard in learning to speak Lingala so that it would really look authentic on camera.<\/p>\n<p><strong>There\u2019s an intense sex scene that probably wouldn\u2019t be done in an American film. Was that challenging to film?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MM: <\/strong>The bathroom scene was an improvisation because we were trying to do a love sequence but we didn\u2019t know how we were going to get there. I told the director that we needed to add some sensuality and I just improvised. It wasn\u2019t easy for Patsha Bay, who plays Riva. He asked if I would be okay with it because he knows that my family would see me nude and it was also my first time doing a nude scene, but I told him that we would be okay. That\u2019s why we\u2019re professionals and it was a wonderful scene.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s next for you?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MM:<\/strong> I don\u2019t know.
